Compared to traditional compression springs, this spring has improved, lower height and provides more movement and spring rates which are near constant. Tapered spring is the other name given to this spring. This spring can be found in automotive parts, like truck and bus engines, combustion engines and automotive race engines as well as electrical contacts, like push buttons and battery contacts. The one end of this spring is tapered and the radius of other end is decreased; forming a cone shape. Stainless steel can be used as major raw material for forming this spring. The SS conical spring can be used in temperatures up to 260 degrees C / 500 degrees F.
