Wire Compression Springs

Compression springs find application in a number of industries, right from automotive to material handling and valve industries. The most common compression spring form is straight, cylindrical shaped. This spring is made from round wire or in some cases square or rectangular wire. The space between the coils created from wire can be different. Other than straight, conical, barrel or hourglass cylindrical shapes can be created. With different configurations, solid height can be reduced as well as non linear load deflection characteristics can be produced. Rectangular wire compression spring, as the name implies, made from rectangular wire, has the greater capacity for energy storage.

Key Points:

  • Also called die spring, this spring is used for increasing space efficiency by reducing the solid height.
  • The end configuration of this spring can be ground, closed or any other.
  • Using this spring, the applied compressive forces can be resisted. The energy can also be stored in the push mode.
  • For different applications, tis spring is available in several end configurations.
